What is a Lap Band or more appropriately

a gastric band? Well… It is a tool that some of

us with a chronic weight problem have obtained.

It is a medical device that when used correctly

assists with a reduction of food consumed.

Anyone who is considering this as an option

must not only educate themselves but they

should absolutely sick professional assistance.

There are many programs and I will NOT here

recommend any one specifically, I will however

recommend that you find a surgeon that has lots

of experience. My surgeon was by far one of the

biggest assholes I have ever met but, but he had

more experience than all the others combined.

As a result I was in for surgery at 10 or 9 AM, and

by 1 PM I was at the market buying soup to take

home with me for later. I was given pain medicine

and I have to say I needed none of it. I was told that

I would be out of commission for at least a week, but

I was back with my regular life in 3 days.  I was going

crazy with the lack of activity.  Please note that this

was my experience and yours or anyone else’s might

be significantly different.  I had a great surgeon but

a crap support program. (I am sure it was my fault)

Considering this or any other WLS??? Inform yourself.

Truth And Reality.

One does not justCrazy how simple the truth sounds.

Hard as hell some times but always well worth it.

People think at times that those of us with a lap band

have an easier go at it but they are wrong as any one

with Weight Loss Surgery (WLS) will quickly tell you.

We must pay as much attention if not more to what we

eat, how we exercise, how much we chew, the amount

of water we drink, the way we take our meds, the extra

vitamins that we need to take, and on, and on, and more.

Regardless the temptations are there and there are real.

The desire for sweets or an extra portion of food is just

as real as it is for anyone else. WE just have an extra tool.

Never forget that a tool in order to be of help must be

used or it is irrelevant.

The decisions we make have an impact and we must

be ever vigilant as we can be as weak as anyone else.

One thing that we should do is always keep our goals

and dreams ever-present because that is the only

way that the what becomes more possible.

Never stop. Keep trying and continue to work on

your goals. Weight Loss, more money, a better relationship,

anything you want is possible if you pay the price.

Keep it present, keep it real, keep it possible.

I am always up for some easy and effective

hacks or short cuts specially if they work.

This  Post is all about that.

We, Us, those of on a weight loss kick know

that everything counts., the gram of carbs

the extra serving of wine or pasta the lack of

fiber or the excess of fat or butter.

We also know that small little things compounded

will also have an impact a positive impact

in the accomplishing of our goals.

These are little things that when used along with

your own regiment/diet will only help.

Take them for a ride and see if they work for you.

The Mirage Of Success.

This was the view from my living room balcony

for many a year. This was my best medicine.

I would come outside and have a cup or ten of

coffee and think and plan and dream a lot.

I have since learned that being moderately

successful is at times the worst obstacle for

us being extremely successful.

I know that after obtaining some success I got so

distracted and full of my self that I started

making some stupid mistakes that slowed down

my earnings and my creative efforts. My writing

that at time was only for me went down and my

peace and calm state of mind went to pot.

On the physical side I started gaining and

gaining weight and deteriorating in health.

I eventually sold this property and another

one I had just down the road in an effort to

correct some of the damage I had done to my

life, health and economy.

Gang I was not focus and I sure as heck

was not successful.  I had to make a change.

I had to improve my situation.

Only I could make that change and work

on my life and situation. YOU TOO

can and only you can make those changes

that your life needs.

I ask of you Stay Focus And Remain Successful.

Homeless I Was.

I allowed the same person to have so much

control over my life that I ended on the street

three times. YES that was a high level of STUPID

on my part.

But the process was not wasted on me.

The hope is that eventually after an X amount of

mistakes and bumps on the head you finally see

the light and say “Fuck This” and you take the

lesson learned and move on.

Different circumstances but same concept is with

weight loss. Even for those of us with a LapBand®

we still can and do screw up and it is up to us

to learn the lesson and improve from there.

Shit if Pasta Alfredo has kicked your ass four times

do you think is time to avoid it?? Or in my case I kept

losing the battle to Hot Fresh French Bread Loaf at

Wal-Mart, guess what? I had to change shopping hours.

Butter Pecan Ice cream has always been able to bring

me to my knees so guess what I literally avoid the

frozen section when shopping and since I try to eat fresh

it has somewhat worked.

Don’t waste the lessons so keep going and pushing

keep focus and stay successful.

By the way the last time that I ended homeless

this person actually tried to stab me with my

very own very sharp chef knife.

This is the start of the last month of 2016

How Are You Doing???

Are you kicking 2016 ASS or

Is 2016 kicking YOUR ass.

Time for a little introspection OK?

2017 is eying us 31 days down the road and,

What will we make of it? Are we happy because

we might get more of what 2016 had or are we

pissed off enough to change what 2016 has been?

I do not know I do not know you personally but

one thing I can tell you and that is: We can always,

always make it better. Are you sick and tired of

being sick and tired? Are you ready to do what it

takes to make you the healthiest version of you?

Are you ready to start manufacturing excuses?

If you are celebrating your gains and triumphs

have you decided what will you do this new year

to bring it over the top?

If we are not making progress we are either staying

stagnant and not growing or we are going backwards

and messing ourselves even more.

We do not really need a new year to make changes or

start planning and dreaming. All we need is a Monday

and the realization that what was ok yesterday is not

good enough today.

Gang let us plan and work on a new, better and

improved US. Time to move on from politics and

drama and all the bullshit that has been on the way.

It is time to get focused and successful.
