Sunset.

What is more beautiful a sunset on the

desert or a sunset by the ocean???

I think both are magnificent but what

makes the biggest difference is the company.

A good friend or a loved one OR if we

are truly lucky a “loved one”.

those are experiences never to be forgotten.

Make sure you are creating memories and

sharing experiences with your loved ones.

Go ahead and make a difference.

Time, Places and living.

Two different worlds.

Same religion

different experiences.

This churches are about 2100 miles apart

one in Columbia, SC the other in

Caborca, Sonora in Mexico.

Four pictures that bring to mind memories

of food, travel, people, smells, conversations

and life. Some fun living.

I had great shrimp and gritts in Columbia

and was shown frienship and compassion

in Caborca. Impossible to forget either place.

So I ask you where have you been lately?

What new meal have you had and what new

relationships have you started??

And more importantly who have you helped.

Who have you been a friend to??

Step out of your comfort zone and go do

some living. Go do some good while

living well.

Are you making progress?

It is the last week of the first quarter

of the year and I wonder as I look at my year

how are you doing with your goals.

We talked at the end of 2016 about including

some travel plans to your goals.

I hope truly that you are planning on going places.

I hope that you find the joy that I find in

going to new and different places.

Gang Go Somewhere and while you are there

reach out and try and help someone.

California In My Mind

dsc_0043

I have been feeling itchy feet the past couple of weeks.

Even though I am currently traveling I feel like it is not

far enough, interesting enough, good enough.

I miss California today. It is there where I can have

good Mexican food for breakfast and pick up sushi, good,

good sushi at the grocery store and then later hit the Pho

joint for dinner.

I am in a part of the country where the flavors and the traditions

are supposed to be great but I still find the food wanting.

Hot, Spicy regardless is no great achievement. (sorry)

While we have found great people in our travels food is still

below what I have found in rural areas of Mexico, Guatemala

OR Belize. Traveling through New Mexico has been challenging

for my food writing. While I have tried many a restaurant that

the locals recommend I have found ONE item I truly liked.

I am sure it is ME where the problem is and all the food is

just amazing.

Gang if you have a chance to get out of town DO IT.

Step outside and see what you can find. What you have been missing. It is always a good thing

to go out searching and exploring. Even bad experiences are

worth it in the big scheme of things.

And while you are out there keep your eyes open and see if

you can find someone to help.

Give a hand, Give a coin, Give someone

a bite to eat. Don’t wait to be asked.

Living.

I was asked what is so important about travel and exploring

and my answer was… Is.  “Living, It Is About Living”

Keep your weight loss goals present,

Keep your financial goals in mind,

Keep your dreams alive,

Keep yourself in line and grow and accomplish and DO.

BUT in the process do not forget to live some.

Do not forget to try new things and new experiences.

Living., you see is about the experiences and the people

we meet along the way. It is about the foods and drinks

and moments we live through because those regardless

of how much money we make or how we look or how much

weight we loose or gain well, those experiences stay with us.

Keep loosing weight. Keep making money but, but do not

I repeat do not forget to live. Do not forget to make memories.

Pleasure.

dsc_0048

I took this picture series at an ungodly hour

and it was a most memorable night.

Doing something we are passionate about

enjoying something we long to do is so great.

In my younger years I was a runner and I loved it

maybe because it was an alone endeavor as I am not

one for crowds or gangs or cliques.

Running helped me clear my mind and separate

my thoughts. I had this fixation on girls and money

and they were in direct opposition as both demanded

my time and attention.

Running and riding my bicycle kept me trim so weight

loss was never an issue or problem for me.

I enjoy my photography a lot I think the only thing

that could compete with that would be eating new stuff.

I love restaurants specially good ones but I hate when

a restaurant screwed up a simple dish or great ingredient.

I hope and want for people to be respectful of food. So much

is said of the culture and traditions in simple every day dishes.

I have learned to enjoy food from all over and maybe that is why

I miss Phoenix and Los Angeles so much. There is the possibility

of so many different meals. My favorite restaurant meals at this

point and time are: Vietnamese Pho at unPhogettable in Mesa, AZ

Their #5 Pho Tai, Nam, Gan is amazing.

And my second favorite is the Friend Chicken at Magnolias

restaurant in historic Charleston, SC.

Pleasure, nothing but pleasure.

Gang do not forget to live and enjoy this short life of ours.

Go and do something you love. LIVE MORE!!

Plans, Goals

directionsSo let me ask you something

How are your plans and goals doing?

Are you making progress?

Did you included plans for travel this year?

I hope you did. I have found travel transformational

for me. I have learned a lot about others but more

importantly about myself thanks to traveling.

The most popular goal at the start of the year is

weight loss and the second one is more money both

very important but we are a lot more than just

skinny and rich. How do we live? how do we grow?

Traveling is so very important.  So very relevant.

That has been my experience something that truly

inspires me.

Have you thought about walking the streets of Paris?

Sit at a plaza in Madrid? Drink coffee by a fountain in

Rome? Have a pint in Ireland? Hell go to the Grand Canyon

or walk the beach in Oceanside, visit El Alamo, take a long

look at The Rocky Mountains.

Gang just do something and go somewhere.

Dream it, plan it, book it, do it. You will never regret it.
