We visit again the fact that we, for the most part know what needs doing but are challenged by the actual doing. We know that WLS is a good tool but like any other tool it must be used to exploit and enjoy the results of it. So… Will we do it? Will we drink the necessary water, will we measure our portions, will we exercise. will we follow the program given to us?

We have the tool and the knowledge now we need the clarity of our goals and dreams and, we have those too. SO…………. Let’s go do it.

Not easy just very doable.

Simple Rules.

4 simplel rulesWhile nothing in weight loss is simple even with Weight Loss Surgery

it does not help when we make things overly complicated.

In trying to explain to my Coach what my system is in selecting

my food items she promptly noticed and shared with me areas

where I might be over complicating my efforts.

Yes we want to have exact portions but a close enough

portion when eating out is good enough and we know based

on our prior experience what is a proper portion.

Exercise or activity is easy enough to track and now with all the

technological possibilities when our phone can as easily count our

steps and calories burned there is no reason not to have a rather

accurate idea of where we are at the end of the day.

Tracking is also possible with a multitude of free apps for both

android and iPhone products.

Since my next big challenge is tracking I am going back to using

the form I had developed and should it be of help to anyone else

I am giving it for free to you at the end of this post.

Please take a look at it and see if you can find a way to improve

on it I am no spread sheet genius so you will not offend me if

you can help me make it a better one.

My Coach keeps telling me that if I do not record it it din’t happen.

My Challenge.

new lap band picAs some of you know I have been dealing with a dislodged

band for quite a bit of time.

I have tried to work around the challenge that this is but I know

that having the ability to eat with out the limiting that the band

provides has been key to my weight re-gain.

Part of my process now is to go back to eating the smaller

portions as the program delineates but it is here where I can feel

the difference that the band makes. A portion that would have made

me feel full with the band properly attached does not have the same

effect without it. I end up feeling hungry and not satisfied wanting

more to eat.

This post is just to advise you that not following the guidelines can

create a situation where you lose all the benefits of the band.

That extra portion or those carbonated beverages are just not

worth it. I know I am living with it.

FOOD. The other side of the coin.

dont dig your graveWeight loss is not just a matter of Dieting any more

than it is just a matter of working out.

A balance of the two makes for faster more noticeable results.

By contrast., nothing will have a more negative effect on

your efforts than a poor diet.

Everybody should eat high quality proteins and nutrients BUT

for those of us with a lap-band or any other type of

Weight Loss Surgery  (WLS) the quality and quantity of the food

we consume is of the utmost importance.

Do not fool yourself there is no way around this for us if we

are truly committed to obtaining results.

Watch what you eat. Follow the feedings program you were given.

consume high quality nutrients and drink plenty of water.

It is quite simple to obtain results and even easier when you are

adding enough activity in any way shape or form.
