Waking UP.

actually. i just woke up

It seem that as of late I have been asked way too many times:

“What Made You Decide To Change?”

One day, I just decided that no one person or no one situation

would ever have so much power over me.

I decided that those friends who continually tell you I will pray for you

but never offer you a coin when broke or a piece of bread when hungry

have no true and vested interest on us.

That if it had to be it was up to me, therefore I promised my self never to

ask another “Don’t let go of me.”

That I am worth it not because of me but because of the one who created me.

I realized that I wanted and deserved a better, longer, healthier and happy life.

That a failed relationship did not preclude me from finding love again.

That having been overweight did not mean that I was to stay that way.

That loosing my position, and wealth only meant that I had something else coming.

That there would be someone who would take and accept me as I was, and to whom

my struggles and challenges would not be a deal breaker as they made their presence felt and,

carried some of the load and at times all of the load so that I did not have to face the world alone.

Because I had those that did pray but, they did not pray for me…They prayed with me.,

a lot has changed and my life now reflects it.

NO. Prayer in any form is not bad or unwelcome, but I remember what my parents taught

all of us as kids: after we pray on our knees we get up and go and pray with our hands, feet

and backs so we can do our part in making ours and other people’s miracles a reality.

I am thankful., oh so thankful for the many kindness I have received during the last couple of years.

I know that I have a purpose and if I have a day or a hundred years

I will work every day and in some way re-pay all that was given to me.

I want more. I want better.

I want health, wealth and a family

And that is why my prayer is never for things to be given to me,

or for life to be easy, and not even for many friends.

All I ask from GOD is for my loved ones to be healthy and safe,

and for me, Peace of mind.

With that I can and will take care of the rest.

On Motivation.

excersice motivator

Because we are all different we must find the thing that

uniquely motivates us to get out of bed, and get on

with the daily battle of the pounds.

Is it Music, passion, or just a number on the scale I don’t know

but whatever it is, you must find it and go forth with it.

Let us make an example of ourselves to those on

the sidelines and let us provide inspiration to others,

not because we are perfect or so accomplished but

because we are trying, and pushing, and not giving up.

We all need a push every now and then, so why not be

the push and example that others need and could

benefit from.

GOALS

New Weight Tracking Form

The importance of GOALS.

Zig Ziglar Once said “With Out A Goal You will Miss Every Shot You Take”

We need something to shot for, and have in our minds a clear idea of what it is that we want, and where do we want to end at in our journey.

I promised on my last post that I would make available to anyone who “Asked” my goals and daily activity sheet, but as I thought about it I decided that I would just make it available on the blog so that I could make it easier for people to see and use.

I ask you to please look at it and if it works for you please by all means use it. BUT, please let me know what you think and maybe., some ideas as to how we can make it better so that we can together help others work on their goals.

Those of us that already had our surgery know that we had an idea, a goal, a dream of who and how we wanted to look at the end. I am not different or better than anyone else so I have made use of every tool I could get my hands on. This form is the result of me wanting to keep that idea clear in my mind, but also keep the accountability where it belonged: ON ME. I wanted to keep the dream alive and present.

If you see the guidelines that have been set for us maybe just like me you will say: “they are out of their bleeping minds”. I did. According to the American Dietetic Association I should weigh at the most 178 #’s being that I a male and I am 6 feet 1 inch tall. Yeah Right.

When I got down to 230 #’s I look like I was sick. Everybody was worried that I had contracted some kind of sickness or something. I felt great though. I think that the main reason I look “not good” was that I was not exercising or doing much activity. Now, I have learned and I want to get to and remain between 200 and 230 #’s. As I have increased my activity level I noticed that my face and body look better. I know by looking at my self and not paying attention to what anyone else says or thinks that I am on the right track.

People, please make sure that you have a goal in mind that is YOURS and no one else. Make sure that you are doing this for YOUR own reasons. Make sure that this process is something you are doing because YOU want it, and answer to YOU and only to YOU.

I have mentioned a picture. The picture that made me decide to take extra measures. I realized that I had let go of me, and I needed to fix me. I needed to bring me back.

I was sick and tired all of the time. I was in the worst shape of my life even though someone told me (trying to be funny) that round was a shape. So here it is.

I thank her for allowing me to post this picture. I do not know who should be more embarrassed, if I for allowing myself to get this big. OR her for being seen with me.

Guys we all have different reasons to do what we do so make sure that you have yours, and that they are important enough for you to always keep in mind and make you stay focused.

I will also add the form and hope that it will be of use to you, and that you will please post a message letting me and others know what it is that you think and how you think we can make it better.

I thank you, and I hope I was of help. The link for the form is at the top of this post.

Last Sunday Of November 2014

you have the power
This is the last Sunday of November.

Have you written your goals for the next year?

Take it for a test drive. Write your goals and keep them present

all year-long and see if your life does not changes completely.

Make economic goals, Work on them and see if you do not end up better.

Make health goals. See if you don’t end up healthier.

Make weight loss goals. Your scale will thank you. It works.

Go to you tube and search Jim Rohn on goals setting, then search

Tony Robbins on life goals and there you will see the blue print for

goal setting. If you want to go the extra mile and have a month,

get and read the book “The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy

and see your life transform, and improve.

Gang I can wish you all the best till I am blue on the face,

but it will take you putting some action for the good to come.

Hey.. If you can,  give yourself a Christmas gift and get you

a subscription to Success Magazine.

Feed your mind the good stuff and your life will reflect it.

Let’s continue to feed our mind and body with only the best.

always something to be happy about

I hope you are all ready for Turkey Day.

Easily the day when we are most likely to over do it with the eating

and the drinking so let’s be aware of what goes into our pay-hole.

Gang It is The Sunday prior to Thanks Giving Day and there is something

always to be grateful and thankful for. I am grateful for the opportunity

I have to share with each and every one of you and I thank you.

Please know that you all will be in the prayers of this imperfect believer.

All the best to you and yours today and always.

FITNESS.

any size.png                    Our size matters so little in comparison to the size of our commitment.

Character and commitment are the main markers we should be paying

attention to instead of most other things.

For those of us who have gone through the Lap Band procedure or any

other WLS surgery, there is a common misconception that somehow

we have taken a short-cut and that is just not true.

The managing of the Lap Band or in my case the Reliance Band

has taken so much learning and discipline that I count it as a

separate degree or certification, God knows it cost just as much.

To go through the procedure took a serious amount of commitment

and investment of time and effort.

The thing is that doing nothing will give us nothing.

Do we want results??? Then let us do something about it.

Let us do something now, right now and do not look back.

Therapy Any One?

24dd3d98cd4ab1f9217bf1887394b83aThere are times when I get the biggest charge

out of a visit with Mr. Punch Bag.

At times, it is not about exercise or burning

calories, and it turns into plain and simple therapy.

At times, I admit I might make Mr. Bag pay for

the silliness, stupidity and shortcomings of others

and myself as well.

All aside I do enjoy how I feel after a session with

the bag and I find that when done properly I use my

whole body and the workout is great.

For those of us with a Lap Band, exercise should be

an intrinsic part of our days in order to keep, and add

to our weight loss numbers. Also, it helps maintain

our weight loss rhythm.

Gang when you don’t have a whole lot of time

try a session with the bag and see how effective

it can be.

Self Love.

Why we do what we do? I had to learn that while it was ok to continue to give to others and of my self., I had to find love to and for myself. It is not an egotistical journey but an adventure of discovery and self realization. I celebrate a pound lost or a size reduced. I am happy for an inch and happy for a ounce. I am happy to be doing better. Celebrate you progress. Because I am sure you will agree that not going back is progress in and of it self. Staying at the same weight for a long time is an issue but from one week to the next it just means that you were able to deal with cravings and temptations. Just Do Not Go Backwards. OK gang today as always I wish you all the best of the best. Jose G. Osuna www.lapbandformen.com

MAGIC DIET PILL !!!!!

What is the most important thing for weight loss?? Diet, Exercise, Activity, Attitude? It is all equally important I have found but, if there is something that I have seen make a difference in many of the people that I have known is the fact that they were committed. There are many experienced and educated persons like me out there that regardless of the knowledge and experience failed at the weight loss game. I trained people on weight loss and therapeutic diets so I knew better and yet I failed consistently. It was the lack of commitment to the weight loss that kept me from realizing my goal. Well Gang here it is the magic weight loss pill. Hope it helps. All the best to you all. Jose G. Osuna www.lapbandformen.com

Temptations Come

DSC_0516

At the beach in Rosarito, Baja Mexico

Snacks on wheels.

Yes this is at the beach in Mexico.

If I am at home in Rocky Point or if I am at home in Rosarito

in Baja this candy store on wheels comes directly to you, on the

beach, with all kind of sweet or salty or spicy or any combination

of the three flavors that you can think of.

So if you like me like to get up early and go for a walk on the

beach before your morning coffee to get you started,

avoid this guys not because they are evil but because they

have all the temptations on one supped-up wheel barrow.

All joking aside we must be aware as best as we know of what

is waiting for us outside our door. I know that while in Mexico

I must be aware of the bakery shops. They use Crack in their stuff..

No they don’t but who can say no to a “concha” or an “oreja”, when

you have a great cup of coffee on hand and a whole empty hand

just begging for you to grab a piece of bread or two.

So I go for my walk and immediately take my happy butt back home

and have a good breakfast, then I can contend with the street vendors

and the bakery shop mafia.

The more we know and the better prepared we are the better our

chances for success.

Guys do not forget just how much we have to do to burn 100 calories

Don’t mess it up with empty food or useless fluids. Make every calorie count.

Choose Your Pain.

Truly, on this one there are two and only two pains.

Which one will you choose? Which one will I choose?

Life is intent on providing us with choices, and what we do with them

is up to us as individuals.

I know and know that I know I want more and better, but

at times I too have lost the battle to the blankets,

dessert was too pretty to pass and…… Here we are or

should I say here I am.

I am constantly making progress but at times that weak

little boy within me wants to rebel and do sh…. stuff he is

Keep Your Why In Mind.

Clarity gives strength. Knowing the why will keep us on track when other things try to de-rail our best intentions and desires. Figure out what it is that motivates you and keep it in mind. For some of us is health while for some of us it might be vanity and even for some it is a passion for life. There is no wrong answer just get your answer. Why Do You Do It? Why do you want to loose the weight? And once you know the why keep it ever present to give you strength on the moments that excuses sound good as if they were reasons. Keep focus and keep going. are less than good, but how fast and permanently they make themselves

part of anything good that has been accomplished by anyone.

The way I see it gang is that we do this by ourselves for ourselves.

I have a weight goal and it inspires me. I have a dream of wearing the same size pants that I used before I got married back in 1986. But I also am smart enough to know and notice how well my body works as I loose the pounds. The extra energy and stamina. I notice how I can sleep better and even breath better. I love that my back pain almost disappears and the purple color on my feet and ankles goes away. So yes a pounds goal and a size in clothes is nice but for me I have to say feeling so much better in my own skin is truly priceless. Find your why and rock on with your bad self!! Jose G. EXCUSES VS RESULTS

Results VS Excuses

No one will diet for us. No one will work out for us.

No one will go on walks or runs for us. No one will drink the water for us.

Keep the dream alive and the goals ever-present.

Keep up the good work and as always all the best to you all.

You Have The Power!

you have the power

We have a God-given right to choose.

Our decisions impact our life and that of those around us family and friends.

All of the little and seemingly insignificant decisions we make day in and day out

have the cumulative power to change and affect our lives.

There is a book titled the compound effect by Darren Hardy Publisher of Success Magazine.

In it Darren shows us the power both negative and positive that each and every decision

we make, can make a difference on the quality of our life.

The extra glass of wine, the fun size chocolate packet, or the extra serving of ice cream

can add up to significant calories, grams of carbs, grams of fat whatever you want to track.

BUT, just as well taking the extra steps by parking a little farther, drinking an extra glass of water,

walking just a little extra, adding a set to our workout, using mustard instead of mayo, etc.

has an effect. What will it be? The positive or negative?

We have the power to decide, we have the opportunity to change our tomorrows and,

by doing that change our life.

Use your power for good., for good longer living.

Gang as always all of the best for you all.

A time to get real and say “This is my time”.

So I ask of you….. Is this your time?

Is this when you decide  Enough with the

I hope it is because there must be an end

 to empty and senseless words.

Drink the water!!!

Take your meds!!!

Do your exercise!!!

Follow your diet!!!

Track your progress!!!

So simple to do.

So simple not to do.

So… What will it be??

Here it is to us in hope that we will be

of the kind that goes and does it.

The kind that gets IT DONE.

A Good Bye.

The passing of a Friend or Friends.

Not too long I found myself at the lake of Davis Dam and

I realized that  it was going to be a bad day.

You see… My sandals that have been with me up and down the Caribbean

had seen their last day in the sun. Why is a pair of sandals so important??

Well it was a present from someone who would never again give me

even a glass of water. On top of that I have trekked up and down the

Pacific cost from South of Seattle all the way to Cabo, and the Atlantic

coast from North Carolina to the tip of Florida passing through South Carolina,

Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, California, Arizona,

Nevada, Sonora, Mexico. Sinaloa, Mexico. Baja, Mexico. Chihuahua, Mexico. St. John, VI,

Aruba, Barbados, Puerto Rico, etc, etc.,

I think you get the point.

I wish I had a Human Friend to have gone with me. None the least I will

miss my sandals.

Where have your travels taken you lately?

Let’s make life about getting better and enjoy what we have in front of us.

It is about living life to the fullest.

I gave my sandals a watery grave and went back home bare footed.,

floating on a cloud of memories. About 10 years of memories.

On Life And Living.

There is so much in life. There is more than just seeing others live theirs.

I see this pic and it makes me smile as I see two of the things that I

actually have a passion for in life. A nice good watch and a great camera.

Lately, I have made so much of my life about my health and

weight loss. Because of my extreme circumstances I have had to

put lots of living on the back burner. Now am trying to catch up

with myself. Yes, health and fitness are very, very important, but living

and enjoying the other aspects of life is also very important.

It is great how we human beings are able to compartmentalize our

life. Yes I want to be healthy but I want someone to share it with.

Yes I want to live longer but I want someone relevant by my side.

I want more. I want more. I want more!

Do you want more? Because if you do let me tell you that

balance is the base for it all. It is not just this or just that,

it is “AND”. Yes a small word but an important one.

Here it is to us. The nuts that hope AND want for more.

This is true in more ways than one.

One of the best ways to ensure that goals are met

is to write them down. Also, it makes dreams and goals

more real, and present while making them significantly

more attainable. Your life is worth recording so invest

Do not skip steps. Write that which is important and

Expectations.

I hate it whenWe must decide what it is that we want, and once we do that

take the steps to accomplish it. Not any easier but clearer.

We live in an “Immediate satisfaction” society that has no patience

for planning, and organizing but even less for consistent

on-going daily work.

WE, however understand that our commitment, planning,

and consistent work will provide us the success needed to

support the next round of battles.

Gang, we know that it is not the easy but the consistency where

the success lies.

Let us keep going so that we might continue to be examples

to those observing us, those wanting to attain some of the

same success nectar. Continue to be an example.

Continue to put the work needed.

Let us all continue to make progress, daily progress.

Funeral.

fat funeralFinally a funeral we can all celebrate.

I do not know about you but my imagination is a

great tool for me. I imagine a counter over my head

that is keeping track of burned calories.

A funeral march for the fat that I burned,

and a band playing for the success it is

even to just show up.

Gang, use all you need and make sure that you

do not waste any of what is yours in your effort

to gain terrain at the battle of weight loss.

Day by day and decision by decision we continue to

make progress and all progress is good.

Keep on keeping on.

The Whole Picture.

Having the lap-band means that the amount of food we consume is significantly less and should therefore be of higher quality. We must pay closer attention to what we consume. We should also make sure that we are staying within the amounts that have been given to us. Another item we at times neglect is the taking of multivitamins daily. While I personally struggle with an items or two of the list I truly struggle with drinking enough water. Let's not forget that all aspects are important and for the most part one can not fully work without the other so while we want to make sure that we are consuming quality nutrients in the right amounts we shall also keep in mind that exercising and drinking plenty of water is equally as important. Stay focus, stay successful. Jose G. Osuna www.lapbandformen.com

or lead a healthier lifestyle make sure that you KEEP IT.

Gang. Let’s not be average because the average person is broke and

they do not keep their commitments.

or with-out work.

Let’s pay… NO let’s enjoy the price

of a better more rewarding life.

TOMORROW.

TOMORROW.

Why wait for tomorrow?
For those of us who are on the road to a better US there is no place for tomorrow., not at the price of a better life.
We do not make excuses for others or for ourselves and that makes us at times the target of jokes, slander, abuse, good and bad intentions and it is our job to maintain the higher ground.

Zero tolerance!! For ourselves when we hesitate between the scheduled and the accidental. When we fail to do what is important and instead we allow the urgent to rule.
To fail to follow our diet just because “it is just a little piece”
For not taking our vitamins and medicine as prescribed instead of “at times”

Tomorrow is the biggest thief. The biggest reason why goals, diets, dreams, wishes and desires do not happen as they should.

As a Hispanic I am very familiar with the term “Manana” Manana does not mean tomorrow., it means “Not Now”

So I ask you If not today, if not now,Then When?

How about right now? How does right now sounds to you?

All of the best for you.

There Is Hope For Us All.

every saintThis gives me hope.

This makes me think that you and I regardless of

how flawed or great we think we are…. Well we have

a chance. There are possibilities in that even if we have

been taken for granted or people not only did not keep

their promises but failed us there is a future.

Today we end a season. This can mean a lot or

it can mean nothing. It is up to us.

What are we waking up with tomorrow?

Ideas and thoughts of power and progress OR

feelings of lost and less.

I hope and pray that we will all tomorrow JUMP

out of bed and run to meet the day and

the new opportunities.

Gang we know how to be and do good….

How about we push for great.

What if we work on excellent.

We deserve it and we know how to do it.

I am here. I have been here. I will be here.

I know what it is like when people promise and

offer to “Be There” only to be missing in action

when we actually need them.

That will not be me.

I will be here tomorrow like every day at 06:30

It is not 05:30 and it is not 05:40

It is 06:30 every day regularly from Monday to

Saturday and every now and then I will throw

a Sunday but personally Sundays are for

God, Family and friends. NO, Not necessarily

for church as I have found that God wants me

in other places at times.

Let’s end this year with a bang and start

the new year even stronger.

Gang I wish for all the best for each and every one of you.

Ceiling.

Dont everEvery day we compromise. We give in a little

and before we know it we have gone too far.

It is not just in the giving but also in the taking,

and accepting that we can find our life taking turns

that we had never plan or even considered.

We must stand resolute in what we want.

We must remain focus and centered so that

our hopes, dreams, and goals stay in the place

they deserve.

Our life is worth of us showing up with our

“A” game. It needs our total and complete

commitment so eventually we can look back

at an imperfect but complete road and be able

to say with pride “Wow, What a ride., I did

the best I could and I am ok with me”

Gang. I am today sending you good vibes.,

I hope truly for all the best for each and

every one of you.

fitness ssIt is MONDAY. Let’s remember how much we have done

to get to where we are and make sure that we are

protecting the progress and success.

We must be ever vigilant and make sure that we continue

taking the basic steps to maintain our progress.

Drink water, remain active, watch the portion,

take you meds, take your vitamins you know the drill.

This is a change in life and not a band-aid on a small cut.

This is our life stay focused, stay healthy.

Which Is The Meassure Of Your Success?

measuring-tape

So? What is it for YOU?

Who cares what others say or think? Who cares what is important to others. What is important to YOU?

Is it a clothes size? A waist measure? The blinking numbers on your scale?

I do not know since I do not know you personally but keeping track of what is important to us is always a great Idea.

Folks are you familiar with the book “The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy? If you are you know how important tracking is,

and if you are not I hope you will take a small piece of advice from me and get you this book. You can get it on audio form or e-book or print form.

Regardless of how you choose to get it you will get information that will help you accomplish any goal you are working on.

A most valuable resource.

Tracking what we eat, our progress, our needed steps, etc., will keep the goal ever-present.

Define what matters to you. Define what it is that you have to do and go for it.

OK. As promised a little bit on food. For those of us that have undergone Weight Loss Surgery (WLS) or those

that are thinking of getting it done here is some insight.

Due to the reduced space for food to go trough on the way to the stomach., the consistency of food must always be taken into consideration

when prepping and when cooking. A small dice will work for most once we get past the initial stage after the surgery.

Make sure you invest in a good quality knife and that it is maintained sharp and always at the ready.

Chewing is the other part of the equation. Make sure that you spend enough time chewing on your food as to avoid getting stuck.

On this I have to add my personal challenge here. IF I allow myself to get too hungry I eat way too fast, and always end up

getting stuck and before long I am throwing up. A most unpleasant experience for those of us that had WLS.

All of the best to you and as always I wish you all the success in the world.

Don’t You Quit!!

crawlingBecause quitting is not acceptable

we plan our work and work our plan.

We look into the future through our dreams

and hopes and we know what the value

of our weight loss is.

We want to live a longer, healthier

life and we want it to mean and stand

for something.

Gang. Let us not forget our dreams

and hopes., let us continue pushing and

working as all of our hard work and

diligence will show up in a better quality

of life that we get to share with our

loved ones.  (whether they want it or not 🙂 )

Don’t quit, Don’t ever quit.

Gift To Yourself.

Make your life what you want by making

the right choices.

From what we eat to where we work.

Who we socialize with to where we vacation.

All of our choices have an impact in our life.

Let’s choose better. Let’s make it count.

Let’s give ourselves the gift of more, better, healthier,

richer, stronger, BETTER.

All the best to you and yours.

Success A Simple Approach.

S U C C E S S This is as good a KEY to success as any other I have ever seen.

I guess we continue with the theme of simplifying the process.

I like the way that things come together when we pay attention

to detail, and the little things.

It has been an eye opener to me ,having someone going right behind me

looking at what I am doing and how I am doing it.

It is a pain in the ass because she is also paying attention to

the things I am failing to do, but it is making me better as I progress

and move along the road to a better me.

Darren Hardy on his book the compound effect talks about

the benefits of tracking, and while I understood the concept

it was not one of my practices. Right now with the direction and

help of my Coach, I am getting much better at the whole tracking

thing, and I have found where I was paying a silly fat tax on some of

the calories I was consuming. Tracking has also helped me find

time that I can use to work on some of my other projects, and I have

another book almost ready to go to my editor.

Ok gang let’s continue to work on our better selves and

keep on keeping on.

What Am I?

consistent andWhat we do we must do first and foremost for ourselves.

This is a competition within us. We are trying to be better than

we were yesterday. Yes the fruit of our work and efforts will result

in benefits for our family and loved ones but we must keep

in the words of the great Stephen Covey:

” We must keep the main thing., the main thing.”

With that in mind we move forward in creating the best

version of ourselves possible.

Stronger, healthier, better.

Options.

directionsYes.,., We do have options.

The important thing here is to make the right choices

make better use of the proper options.

Gang I would probably rather eat a bowl of hot steamed

rice with salt and butter than any part of any chicken

cooked in any way.  (Only exception being the glorious

fried chicken from “Magnolias Restaurant” in historic

Charleston, SC)

The thing is that we need the commitment to our goals

so that we can conquer the options daily actually three times

a day for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

I truly believe that 99.99 % of those of us with weight problems

don’t have said problems because we hate eating or food. NO!!

We love food and eating so now that we have that covered

we must learn to love the goal and the plan.,

the image in our minds must be in our harts as well so

we can cross the line. Let’s do it.

Lets get to the weight WE want, To the size WE want.

It is our life so let’s make it the best possible.

100 % Results Only With 100 % Commitment.

Looking back at many of my posts and many of the blogs that I follow I noticed that we all have set backs. I noticed that we all had plateau patches when we were stuck for periods of time. I noticed also that at times food and the warm bed won over our commitment to work on our weight loss plan. BUT.. I also noticed that when we re-committed to our goals we made amazing progress. This shows that were we to remain 100% committed 100% of the time this weight loss thing would be a done deal. BUT as someone who has failed at times I acknowledge that it is hard., possible but hard. We must have a plan. We must work plan. We need to have goals and they need to be ever present. And we must remain 100 % committed to ourselves. That is how we accomplish and conquer. Let's keep up the good work. All the success to you all. Jose G. Osuna www.lapbandformen.com

Changes.

Small Changes

Doing the little things., drinking more water, exercising two to three times a week,

paying attention to what we eat and on and on.

The little things that if we do them make a world of difference.

But., if we don’t then… It is time to make the small changes and kick it into gear.

Little thing by little thing, one step at a time.

Keep the end in mind and the goal ever-present.

Commitments

DSC_0026

Someone told me once:

“You talk about always doing your walks

as if it was the easiest thing to do. It is

not always easy or practical you know.”

I took this picture on one of my walks

in Espanola, NM. The temperature was

below zero but I still went for my walk.

This does not make me better than anyone

else but it does makes me more committed

to my goals. There are times when I can not

go for my walk for a variety of reasons.

Tomorrow for example due to family

challenges I will not be able to go for my walk

and that is ok. I do not kick myself for it, and

instead I will be over careful with what I will

eat and drink.

I do not believe that we should be slaves to

our schedules but I firmly believe that we

must honor our commitments.

In the end, we can only do the best we can do.

Gang keep your goals and plans ever-present.
